The Great Toe

Looks like its time to get a new pair of shoes as the Black Toe has struck. Im sure most of you have had it at some point - but in case you haven't here is what "The Toe" is - (from RunnersWorld)

"A black toenail happens because repeated jamming of the toes against a shoe causes the nail to dislodge. It can happen when shoes are too big or too small, so go to a specialty running shoe store and have the salesperson make sure there's a thumb's width between the end of your longest toe and the front of the shoe. Also, make sure your toenails are trimmed straight across."

Oh yeah! I forgot about black toenails! When I did that marathon training program, they told us, "Well, your toenails are probably gonna turn black, just deal with it". They didn't say it was from shoes, I just understood it to be blisters under the toenails from all the pounding. Oh, and then they fall off. I lost three or four...
